OpenJanela alternative
Moving from OpenJanela to Extrusia: what carries across, and how.
Extrusia reads OpenJanela's own data directly. Everything below is built into Extrusia's migration tools — the catalog and dealer pricing decoded, the history kept, and the windows already wearing OpenJanela stickers scanned straight through the cutover.
What carries across from OpenJanela
| What you have in OpenJanela | What happens to it in Extrusia |
|---|---|
| Series, options, rules and bill-of-material formulas | Decoded from OpenJanela's own data into Extrusia's catalog and BOMs — not retyped from price sheets. |
| Price books, dealer levels and customer terms | Rebuilt and proven: recent real orders are repriced in Extrusia and compared line by line before go-live. |
| Customers, dealers and their contacts | Imported with their price levels, tax status and sales reps. A dealer's own customer tiers come across for the dealer portal. |
| Quotes, orders and dealer orders — the history | Every document kept as a read-only record with its lines and status timeline, on OpenJanela's own figures. Nothing is repriced on today's book. |
| Invoices, payments and credit memos | Kept as a record too; past payments still count toward each sales rep's collections and year-over-year figures, tied out to the cent. |
| Open orders and work on the floor | Carried across live. Jobs keep the numbers your crew knows; carts, routes and bench boards continue in Extrusia. |
| Tracking and glass stickers already on windows | Keep scanning at your benches after cutover — Extrusia reads OpenJanela's barcode format and resolves each to the window. |
| NFRC ratings and labels | Your certified ratings by series and glass carry across, and the NFRC certificate prints per window at QC. |
| Glass optimizer files | Extrusia writes the same optimizer order file into the same folder, so the glass operator's routine does not change. |
| A home-grown dashboard on top of OpenJanela | Mapped screen by screen onto Extrusia Link, so the views your managers rely on carry across. |
How the switch runs
The switch follows the same five steps as every Extrusia migration, with one advantage: Extrusia's OpenJanela importer is already built. In practice that means:
- Read, don't retype. With read access to your OpenJanela database, the catalog, price books, customers and history are decoded directly.
- Prove the prices. Recent OpenJanela orders are repriced in Extrusia; every difference is explained by exact arithmetic and fixed before anyone relies on the new book.
- Mirror in parallel. Extrusia follows your live OpenJanela quotes, orders and scans so both systems can be watched agreeing — the schedule, the bench boards, the prices.
- Switch off when you're ready. On the day you choose, the mirror stops and Extrusia takes over the open work, with the stickers already on windows still scanning.
What you gain on the other side
- Dealer Connect — a dealer quoting and ordering portal on the same catalog and prices as the plant.
- Extrusia Link — schedules, bench boards, ready-to-ship and collections, live, on any screen or TV.
- Josie — an AI assistant that answers questions about the operation and, with approval, does the work.
- Machine Connect — saws, welders, the glass optimizer and label printers driven from the order.
- A documented API with more than 1,000 operations, in the cloud, with each customer in its own database.

Coming from OpenJanela — common questions
Can Extrusia import our OpenJanela data directly?
Yes. Extrusia's importer reads OpenJanela's database — catalog, pricing, customers, dealers, orders, invoices and payments — and every import is shown as a dry run before anything is written.
Will windows with OpenJanela stickers still scan after we switch?
Yes. Extrusia understands OpenJanela's tracking and glass barcodes and resolves each one to the right window, so work in progress keeps moving through your benches after the cutover.
Do we keep our OpenJanela order history?
Yes. Every quote, order, dealer order, invoice, payment and credit memo is kept as a searchable record on OpenJanela's own figures. Old orders are not repriced on your new book.
Will our prices match what OpenJanela charges?
That is what the parity gate proves before go-live: your recent OpenJanela orders are repriced in Extrusia and compared line by line, and every difference is explained and settled before go-live.
Can we run both systems at the same time?
Yes. During the parallel run Extrusia mirrors your live OpenJanela work so both can be compared before you switch.
