Josie · The AI assistant in the Extrusia Software Suite
An AI assistant for your window plant that doesn't just answer — she does the work.
Ask Josie about your live operation in plain words. She reads the same orders, scans and payments your team works from, explains what she found, and — with your approval — carries out the task: batching orders, releasing work, preparing follow-ups, building reports.
Why an assistant inside the ERP
Traditional software expects people to know which screen to open, which report to run and which filter to set. In a window plant that knowledge lives in two or three heads. Josie removes the need: anyone can ask, and the answer comes from the real data, not from a guess.
Because Josie works inside Extrusia, she can read a quote's glass sizes off the same reading the glass line prints its stickers from, count a job's vinyl in sticks and feet, and see which windows are scanned at which bench. A general-purpose chatbot pasted onto an ERP can do none of that.
What people ask Josie
Production
"How is production doing today?" "What's waiting to be released?" "Which carts are on the glass table?" "How much vinyl does quote 30804 take?"
Orders and customers
"What orders are due this week?" "Find the Weston job." "Which dealers have quotes waiting?" "What did this customer order last spring?"
Money
"Which customers have past-due invoices?" "How are sales this month compared with last month?" "What has John collected this month?"
Getting work done
"Batch this week's approved orders." "Release them to the floor." "Draft an email to the customer that their order is ready." "Book a measure with this lead on Thursday."
Learning the system
"How do I add a mulled unit?" "Where do I change a dealer's price level?" Josie explains Extrusia and takes you to the right screen.
In your language
Ask in Spanish, Polish or Vietnamese and Josie answers in the same language — the numbers stay exactly as the system holds them.
Safeguards: an assistant you can let near production
An AI that can release orders to the floor has to be held to stricter rules than one that writes emails. Josie's are built into the platform rather than left to the model:
- She proposes; a person approves. Anything that changes data is laid out as a plan — every step, every record — and nothing runs until somebody with the right role presses approve.
- Only what you could do yourself. Josie acts with the permissions of the person asking. A sales rep's Josie cannot see supplier invoices; a dealer's cannot see another dealer's orders.
- Autonomy is opt-in and narrow. A workspace may let named, specific actions run without approval, each with its own limits and a daily ceiling. Everything else waits for a person.
- Answers from your records. Josie answers from your live data and says when the data isn't there, rather than guessing. An answer she could not finish is marked as unfinished.
- Every action recorded. What Josie did, at whose request, sits in the audit log beside every other change.
Bring your own AI, too
Every Extrusia capability is a documented API operation, and Extrusia publishes a standard connector for AI tools — so a team that already uses Claude or another AI assistant can connect it to its own workspace with a limited-access key, under the same approve-before-it-writes rule.
Josie — common questions
Can Josie change orders without anybody knowing?
No. Anything that writes is shown as a plan and runs only after a person with the right role approves it, unless your administrators have deliberately allowed one specific action to run on its own. Every action is in the audit log.
Does Josie see data she shouldn't?
Josie works with the permissions of the person asking — the same fences that apply to them apply to her.
Is Josie included in Extrusia?
Josie is part of the Extrusia Software Suite. Each workspace has a monthly AI allowance, so usage is predictable.
