Migration
Switching ERPs with your prices proven first.
Window plants stay on twenty-year-old software because the cutover is frightening: a wrong price on a thousand quotes, a lost order on the floor, a dealer quoting from last year's book. Extrusia's migration is built to make that fear unnecessary — your prices are proven before anyone switches, and the floor keeps moving the whole way through.
The rule: no go-live until the prices match
Every manufacturer's pricing is different — size books, united-inch tables, option adders, mull charges, dealer multipliers, freight rules, one-off customer terms. A migration that assumes yours works like everyone else's will quote wrong, and you will find out from a customer.
So Extrusia does not assume. The importer decodes your catalog and price books from your current system's own data, then replays your recent real orders through Extrusia's price engine and compares every line against what your current system charged. Every difference is classified — a missing option, a rounding rule, a customer-specific term — and fixed in the data. Go-live waits until every remaining difference is explained and signed off.
The five steps
Decode your catalog and price books
Series, openings, options, rules, bill-of-material formulas, size books and dealer price levels are recovered from your current system's database, not retyped from PDFs.
Bring across the business
Customers and dealers, vendors, users, items and stock, work centers, open invoices and bills, open purchase orders and opening balances — each import shown as a dry run before anything is written.
The parity gate
Recent real orders repriced line by line in Extrusia and diffed against your current system. Mismatches block the cutover instead of surprising you after it.
Run in parallel
Extrusia mirrors your live quotes, orders and floor while your current system keeps running, so the two can be watched agreeing — on prices, on schedules, on scans — before you rely on the new one.
Cut over without stopping the floor
Work already in production carries across live: the jobs keep their numbers, and the stickers already on windows keep scanning at your benches. The old system's history stays readable inside Extrusia.
What happens to your history
Years of quotes, orders, invoices and payments are imported as a record — every document with its own lines, status history and money, exactly as your old system stored it. Old orders are deliberately not repriced on today's book: an order from 2024 shows what you charged in 2024. The record is searchable from each customer's page, and past payments still count in your year-over-year collections figures.
What happens on the floor
The hardest moment in any cutover is the work in the middle: windows half-built, wearing the old system's stickers, on carts the old system planned. Extrusia reads the old system's barcode format so those windows keep scanning at your benches, keeps the job numbers your crew knows, and takes over filing glass and routing remakes the moment the old system is switched off — not before.
What we need from you
- Read access to your current system's data (or exports, if a database is not available).
- A person who knows your pricing — to confirm what each difference in the replay means.
- An agreed parallel-run period and a cutover date chosen by you, once the replay agrees.
Switching — common questions
How long does a migration take?
It depends mostly on how complicated your pricing is and how long you want to run in parallel. The parity gate, not a calendar, decides when you are ready — we would rather tell you a week late than quote a customer wrong.
Which systems can you migrate from?
Extrusia's importer reads OpenJanela's database directly, and also QuickBooks and spreadsheet exports. Other systems are handled the same way: we read their own data and prove the result against their own orders. See coming from OpenJanela.
Do our dealers have to stop quoting during the switch?
No. During the parallel run dealers keep quoting where they are today, and move to Dealer Connect once their prices have been proven.
Will we lose our order history?
No. Your old system's quotes, orders, invoices and payments are imported as a read-only record, searchable from each customer, and the old payments still count in year-over-year collections.
What if a price doesn't match?
Every mismatch in the replay is classified by exact arithmetic — which option, which rule, which customer term — and fixed in the data before go-live. The engine never guesses at a reason.
