Paradigm alternative
Extrusia and Paradigm: one starts at the quote, one starts at the saw.
Paradigm is known for quoting software used across the building products channel, with an ERP built on it. Extrusia was built inside a working vinyl window plant and grew out toward the dealer. Both cover the path from a quote to a delivered window. This page sets them side by side, so you know what to ask either vendor.
Paradigm in brief
Paradigm serves window and door manufacturers, distributors, lumberyards and home improvement contractors. For manufacturers it offers Paradigm Omni, cloud-hosted configure, price and quote (CPQ) software; Paradigm Nexus, an ERP for plant operations from production scheduling and inventory to shipping and invoicing, which Paradigm describes as building on Omni; and Paradigm Vendo, an in-home selling app. Add-ons include delivery tracking, business intelligence reporting, production planning and home visualization.
Paradigm's strength is the selling side: a configurator that dealers, distributors and contractors across the channel already know. Extrusia's starting point is the plant: the cut list, the saw, the welder, the glass, the labels and the truck.
Where the two differ
The Paradigm column is taken from Paradigm's own public materials as of November 2026. Ask Paradigm for the current detail on anything that matters to you.
| What to compare | Paradigm (per Paradigm) | Extrusia |
|---|---|---|
| Where it started | Quoting and configuration (Omni), with the ERP (Nexus) built on it. | The plant floor of EarthWise of Kansas City, which runs on Extrusia every day. |
| How it is sold | Separate products (Omni, Nexus, Vendo) and add-ons. | One suite. The ERP, Dealer Connect, Link and Josie come together, on one catalog and one set of prices. |
| Dealer quoting | Omni, cloud-hosted CPQ for highly configurable building products. | Dealer Connect quotes and orders on the plant's own book, live, at each dealer's own pricing, from a computer or a phone. |
| Production | Nexus covers production scheduling, inventory, shipping and invoicing; production planning is an add-on. | Orders become cut lists, glass files and labels with nobody retyping anything. Every window carries its own barcode and is scanned at every station. |
| Machines and labels | Ask Paradigm which machines and label formats it drives. | Machine Connect drives saws, welders, the glass optimizer and label printers, and the NFRC certificate prints per window at QC. |
| Plant visibility | Real-time production statistics in Nexus; Paradigm Insights for reporting. | Extrusia Link: schedules, bench boards, ready-to-ship and collections, live on any screen or TV in the plant. |
| AI | Ask Paradigm what AI it offers. | Josie answers questions about your operation from your live data and, with a person's approval, does the work: a quote, a follow-up, a report. |
| Where it runs | Omni is described as cloud-hosted. | Cloud only. Each customer runs in its own database, and a documented API of more than 1,000 operations sits under every screen. |
If you are moving from Paradigm
A move to Extrusia runs the same way whichever system you are leaving. See how migration works.
- Read your own data. Your catalog, prices, customers and history are taken from your current system's data or exports, not retyped from price sheets.
- Prove the prices. Your recent real orders are repriced in Extrusia and compared line by line. Go-live waits until every difference is explained.
- Run in parallel. Both systems run side by side until you have watched them agree.
- Bring your dealers across. Dealers keep quoting where they are today during the parallel run, and move to Dealer Connect once their prices have been proven.
A plant that made the move: EarthWise of Kansas City switched ERP systems in September 2026. Within four weeks it had cleared 272 late windows, and it now builds about 20% more windows a week with the same crew. Read the EarthWise case study.

Paradigm or Extrusia: common questions
Is Extrusia an alternative to Paradigm?
For window and door manufacturers, yes. Extrusia covers dealer quoting, orders, production, glass, labels, shipping and invoicing in one suite. Paradigm also serves distributors, lumberyards and contractors who sell other manufacturers' products, which Extrusia does not.
Does Extrusia have a configurator for dealers?
Yes. Dealer Connect lets dealers configure, price and order your windows and doors at their own pricing, from a computer or a phone. It reads the plant's own catalog, so a price changed in the plant is the price the dealer sees.
Can we bring our Paradigm data into Extrusia?
Yes. Your catalog, prices, customers and history are read from your current system's data or exports, and your prices are proven against your own recent orders before go-live.
Can Extrusia take orders from other systems?
Yes. Besides Dealer Connect, Extrusia takes orders through its API, by EDI, and as purchase orders emailed or dropped in a folder, which it reads into quote lines for a person to check.
Is Extrusia cloud software?
Yes. Extrusia runs in the cloud, and each customer has its own database.
